I really don't miss any Maryland basketball games, but a midnight tip is just not in the cards.
I, a full grown adult, cannot open the door to the possibility that it'll be 2:15 am and I have to try to go to sleep after a disappointing loss to UNLV.

Can we never hear from this guy again? Just go away. Stop running to Seth Davis or whoever. You are at Villanova, dude. If I was a Nova fan I would pretty looking at everything he's done since late March with a sense of dread.

The kickers is that since basically no Maryland fans watched any of these players last season, we are all going to learn who they are together. I'm genuinely excited

Obviously, not all of these guys will turn out to be great or even good, but you can't play more than 8-10 guys for any real minutes. Payne/Rice/Watts/Washington/Saunders/Metcalf seem like locks for the rotation. Who knows who will shake out for the rest.

With Buzz's first Maryland roster seemingly complete, I think it's safe to call this among the most fascinating off-seasons in the program's history.

5-star combo guard Darius Adams has committed to Maryland men’s basketball, he confirmed on social media today. Ranked No. 23 in the class of 2025, Adams is head coach Buzz Williams’ first recruit.

1. Payne
2. Saunders
3. Rice
4. Washington
5. Mills
6. Watts
7. Coit
8. Turkson

You’d think with all this “returning production” they’ll be pretty high in the predictive metrics heading into next season.

Basically every player Maryland has added who played last season (besides Coit) averaged right around 10 points per game. Genuinely fascinated to see how this goes.

NEWS: Virginia transfer Elijah Saunders has committed to Maryland, he announced. Saunders played just one season at Virginia after playing his first two years at San Diego State. He’s a native of Phoenix, Arizona. Averaged 10.4PPG and 5.0RPG this season.

Okay, so I should clarify:
My point is based on depth and projection.
Depth - I think there's a good chance they are better 1-10 than last years team.
Projection - Less of a chance, but still possible, we get the a leap from someone like Payne to become an All-League guy.

It's becoming increasingly possible that Maryland has a better roster next season than they had this past one, with the enormous caveat that no one is Derik Queen.

Watts is the fourth backcourt player to commit to Maryland out of the portal, joining Myles Rice (former teammate at WSU), David Coit and Andre Mills. He’s a career 35% 3-point shooter. 64% of his shots have come from beyond the arc.
