@AndrewMarshaII

I’m a British citizen on a mission to be with my wife Anna in the U.K. New U.K. family visa rules (MIR) keep us apart.

@Keir_Starmer @lisanandy You have made our life hell with your lack of action and not standing up for British born citizens married to foreigners. It’s our second wedding anniversary next month, we are still living in different countries. @TheGreenParty will get my vote.

Meanwhile⬇️ This is what we are having to deal with. It’s inhumane…No one is talking about it…using British citizens married to foreigners to get immigration numbers down. I’m a British citizen and the U.K. government won’t let my foreign wife live with me in the U.K. I own my own house outright, (no rent no mortgage) I’m self employed, my wife is a university graduate, artist, illustrator that speaks three languages. They say we may be a risk to the welfare system because I don’t earn a skilled worker’s salary. Imagine how this feels, my wife can’t live here because I dont earn a figure that my government plucked from the sky! We are paying £500+ to rent an apartment in Turkey for my wife, plus utilities ect. Money that could stay in the U.K. (Anna’s home country is Russia but left when Russia invaded Ukraine) I keep getting told go and live in your wife’s country…problem solved! Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. advises against all travel to Russia due to the risks and threats from its continuing invasion of Ukraine, including: security incidents, such as drone attacks, and Russian air defence activity lack of flights to return to the UK limited ability for the UK government to provide support I would not be entitled to benefits and nor would my wife so what’s the risk? I can not reinvest in by business because I have to show 29k profit, so the business suffers. My wife can’t visit the U.K. on a tourist visa because the U.K. government feels Anna may overstay her visa! The only way is for me to visit Anna. When I’m not working I’m not earning, so how do I get to the 29k. To live with my wife I will have to sell up and leave the U.K. This is how the U.K. government discriminates against its own citizens. It’s called MIR. As for the astronomical visa fees, which the government can not answer how they came up with such a figure, nor can they say what it’s spent on. Family visa for being married to a British citizen £1846. (The money left over from the processing of the visa should be refunded) in retail or trade keeping the money and not been able to give a detailed receipt would be illegal and trading standards would be involved. For example to issue a Schengen visa fee to visit 29 countries €90….make that make sense. The legal migration business run by the British government leading to hundreds of British citizens to live apart from wife’s, husband’s, children… Minimum income requirement for a British citizen Husband/wife £29,000 Savings route £88,000 Initial Visa application £1,846 Extension Every 2.5 Years (x3) £3,774 Immigration Health Surcharge £10,350 Indefinite Leave to Remain £2,885 Total £18,855 Excluding language test, legal costs… Role/Possible Title Typical Salary (£/year) Education Assistant ~£24,420 Educational Assistant (daily) ~£20,000-£25,000 (variable) Education Support Assistant £16,000-£20,600 averag Education Support Worker £17,500-£26,400 typica range Teaching Assistant (range) £8,832 - £28,596 Healthcare Assistant (general) ~£24,800-£24,900 Health Care Assistant (range) £14,200 - £20,748 Health Assistant (median) ~£18,960 Real-world NHS HTC £23,000 - £24,000 Retail, Hospitality, Apprentices Mostly £11k - £25k

I will always make decisions that are in the national interest. It’s why we aren’t getting dragged into the Middle East conflict, and why we are fighting to protect your living standards. And while opposition parties have responded by dividing communities, we respond with hope and pride. Pride in our communities, and the hope of a country that’s better for our children. That’s what we’re fighting for. Vote Labour on Thursday 7 May.

More Labour means guaranteeing that it will always be true that those, like my parents, who sought a new and better life here, and contributed to our national life can find, in this country, a home. And that children of theirs may unthinkingly call themselves English, or a Brit, or even a Brummie, just like me.

So let me get this straight. If a family has no legal right to be in Britain, the government will pay them £40,000 to leave. Taxpayer money. Your money. But if you’re a British worker who lost your job? Good luck. If you’re a small business drowning in taxes and energy costs? No cheque coming. If you’re a family struggling to pay the bills? Tighten your belt. This is the madness of modern Britain. Businesses closing. Jobs disappearing. Food banks growing. Yet the government is throwing cash at people who were never meant to be here in the first place. How does that help Britain? How does that grow the economy? How does that help the millions of people who actually pay the taxes? It doesn’t. It just shows how completely broken our priorities have become.

I want to thank the police and our security services for the action they’ve taken today to keep Britain safe from a potential threat. The Jewish community and the wider public will understandably be concerned by today's arrests. We continue to monitor the situation closely and engage with those affected. I can reassure you that our police and security services are world leading and won’t hesitate to take action to counter any threat to the UK. They will continue to use the full range of tools and powers available to them to keep this country safe. They have the government’s full support as they carry out their vital work. We must now give them the time and space to continue their investigations.

Our pilot of new incentives to remove failed asylum seeking families will save taxpayers up to £20 million. Here's why 👇 1. It costs 158k to put up a family of 3 in an asylum hotel for 1 year. It costs 48k more to forcibly remove someone. A 10k per person incentive, up to a max of 40k per family, will save money. 2. If someone refuses an incentive, we will move to a forced removal. If you have no right to be in this country, you should not be allowed to stay. 3. There is nothing new about incentive payments. The Tories did it. Even Reform say they will do it. 4. Higher incentives have worked in Denmark. 95% of returns there are voluntary. 5. These incentives are not a pull factor. Asylum claims in Denmark are at a 40-year low. And asylum seekers spend tens of thousands of pounds getting to this country, that's more than any incentive payment. 6. This is a pilot of 150 families. We will see if it works and scale it if it does. That's taking a smart approach, that saves taxpayers' money, to restoring order at our borders. I make no apology for doing that.
