However I think it’s dangerous to equate the slurs he used, to a separate joke in which he makes a false claim that he’s a nonce. Ones really bad, ones just a bad joke

@MickeyMarxClub @BlkNaCl @abcomedian The slurs he decided to repeat over and over again. I found it extremely uncomfortable to watch and I thought there are never moments where you can use those words in an appropriate way. If there are repercussions as a result then so be it

@BlkNaCl @abcomedian If you’re gonna have a strong opinion on something it’s best to take a well rounded approach to the matter. Not dig your heels in over a fairly inconsequential piece of comedy that came out 8 years ago and noone had watched up until yesterday.

@needs_nicholas @abcomedian He invented “A” desire, but chances are it’s not “his” desire. He’s not expecting anyone to identify with it, it’s not observational comedy. There are genuine reasons to get disappointed by his early material but a throw away bit about him jokingly being a nonce isn’t one of them

@AndyTaft @abcomedian Potentially, yeh. He could have invented his desire to fuck a 14 year old for the punchline? Just deeply weird to invent that scenario for himself, and rest on the assumption that people in the audience would somehow identify with that.

@BlkNaCl @abcomedian As I’ve stated, nuance and context is needed. You’re not factoring in that he’s a comedian and he has made himself the punchline of a joke. Of course he doesn’t actually mean it. It’s laughable to suggest he does, unless you in fact are a mindreader in which case I apologise

@needs_nicholas @abcomedian I think there are genuine reasons to be disappointed in some of his earlier material, as he’s referenced in this apology. I’m still disappointed that at any point, some of the language he used was used, but in the case of the 14yr old joke, it’s a completely different situation

@AndyTaft @abcomedian I think him being sexually attracted to a 14 year old is probably the most truthful thing he's been accused of, no? I mean...what part of the joke is him inventing that he was sexually attracted to an underage girl?
