Before pencils even existed, Leonardo da Vinci’s favorite drawing tool was a silverpoint stylus — basically a thin silver wire set into a metal holder. Every single line was permanent — no erasing, no fixing mistakes. One wrong move and the whole drawing was ruined. Over time the silver oxidizes and turns into these beautiful warm brown tones. The level of precision and patience these artists had is insane. I never knew this existed. 🔥
