Schools like South Carolina or UConn (Both teams who recruited Angel out of HS) , etc would’ve made way more damn sense. Angel didn’t go somewhere already built, she helped build it. She walked into a program where Kim Mulkey was still early in the rebuild, yr two to be fuckin exact, and the roster was basically brand new. Angel was Mulkey’s gold over the rainbow. But let’s talk abt those transfers, bc ppl love throwing that word around like it was a superteam. LSU added: Jasmine Carson (West Virginia) LaDazhia Williams (Missouri) Kateri Poole (Ohio State) Last-Tear Poa (JUCO) All solid additions, but none were viewed as program changing stars comin in. Angel was literally the #1 transfer in the country. Meanwhile, LSU had just one true returning starter, Alexis Morris, plus a roster full of newcomers, transfers, and freshmen. Now compare tht to Maryland women’s basketball where Angel transferred from… That roster was already established and, on paper, WAY more proven, wit players like Diamond Miller, Chloe Bibby, and Shyanne Sellers. She didn’t leave a better, more established team to go join a powerhouse or super team. She left a stacked, experienced roster… to go to a team with one returning starter, a second yr coach, and a bunch of new pieces. It was a group of role players, new pieces, and potential, until Angel turned it into something else. That’s not ring chasing dummies. That was betting on yourself, and turning it into a championship. You hating mfers keep hatin bc that ring that she earned and the facts are not gonna change.
