Some quotes from Zach Lowe’s podcast with @MoDakhil_NBA that land where a lot of Magic fans are feeling right now: “They’re the most disappointing team.” - Mo “When you look at Orlando they’re just not running a lot of stuff.” - Mo “I wanted to see them come into the season with an understanding of ‘this is how we’re gonna attack on offense’ and it didn’t seem like they changed anything. When the defense goes bad, for a team that that was your backbone, you’re really in trouble.” - Mo “There are possessions where they are playing with the right purpose.. then you see two straight possessions where.. (Lamelo Ball) was stuck on Bane two straight possessions.. You’ve been trying to hunt that guy (Lamelo) for like every fourth possession.. and he’s on Desmond Bane and Bane just stands in the corner doing nothing, Paolo dribbles into nothing, nothing happens like what’s going on, where’s the purpose to this possession.” - Lowe “You made a win now move for Bane.” - Mo “They didn’t trade for Bane right before training camp, or right before the season, they did it in the offseason. Why weren’t you in the lab ‘let’s figure out what we can do offensively’” - Mo “It’s going to require creativity from your offense (to make Franz + Paolo work) that I just do not see.” - Mo “Neither of them (Paolo or Franz) is the kind of three-point shooter that teams are gonna be scared of, and in Paolo’s case they’re actively inviting him to shoot. In fact several recent teams.. teams are taking another step back against the Magic and basically just being like other than Bane all of you guys can shoot from 18-feet out.” - Lowe “I’ve thought is there a world where they can steal 8 minutes a game, playing those five guys (Suggs, Bane, Black, Franz, Paolo) playing Paolo at center. Their starting five has been good. I’ve called Jalen Suggs the skeleton key of unlocking the best version of this team, he just hasn’t played enough” - Lowe

Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis has sustained ligament damage in his left hand, sources tell me and @BannedMacMahon. Depending on second opinion and if surgery is required, Davis could miss a number of months.
