@brillfish This happens to me, on average, once a shift. Every single time I have introduced myself as “one of the doctors”. It is not unreasonable to want to be referred to by your professional title in your own workplace.

@KarenHercher @Tom_the_Knowles @brillfish It isn’t being mistaken for a nurse, it is not being recognised as a doctor, despite repeatedly introducing yourself as such. It is an example of everyday sexism that many female doctors face, myself included. Perhaps you could show some solidarity and sympathy.

We saw this same reaction when Ukrainian refugees arrived in the Calais Jungle. How could they be left to endure such awful conditions?! There was horror & outrage that have never been raised on the same scale for all the other refugees stuck there for years. White. Supremacy.

MSF is horrified that Al-Shifa hospital is in ruins after a 14-day long operation by Israeli forces in and around the facility. Gaza’s largest hospital is now out of service. Given the extent of the destruction, people in the north are left with even fewer healthcare options.

Even if none of those things happen, this means a decrease in one persons pension contributions. Less to put away in savings. Accepting these things in favour of having a partner who “can provide” is what has kept women poor and powerless for LARGE CHUNKS OF HISTORY.
