Sarcasm & shitposts with occasional insights into crypto/tech. I hate soup. Yes, even that one you think is amazing. Stress baker by day, ML nerd by night.

@JeffKirdeikis Asset tokenization = pegged tokens. Whether USD or fine art, there are issues with maintaining a peg.

@made_in_cosmos In USA... Apt 1, had stove/fridge. Apt 2, had stove/fridge/window blinds. Apt 3, no appliances. Basically 2 types of rental. "Unfurnished" usually have fridge/stove, but not all. Some have washer/dryer. Furnished have nearly everything, even like pots & towels & cutlery...

Okay everyone, are you telling me that when you rent an apartment you have to bring your own beds, desks, armchairs, tables, wardrobes, carpets, washing machines, and pretty much everything else? How does that even work?
Maria Made in Cosmos ✨@made_in_cosmos

@nickredmark @Duderichy Every single apartment I've rented in Poland and South Korea came with furniture and often also curtains, rugs, etc, are you telling me this is not the case everywhere else?

You know that quote about anything sufficiently advanced being magic? That's AI. human-like-nonhuman intelligence for those too early/too uninformed to detect the difference A basic calculator in 300 BC or 1700's, a 90's PC in the early 1900's, the internet in the 1930's

@QiaochuYuan And I mean, literally, a LOT of emerging/predicted tech is called AI (or the relevant equivalent for the era). Basic computation was AI 2300 yrs ago! 1700's in Gulliver's Travels, the engine, was the human-like-nonhuman intelligence. A basic 90's pc met the description easily.

@QiaochuYuan Much emerging tech is AI until it's sectioned off & named it's own name. Machine learning was just "AI" at one point. Huge advances in many fields have come from ML. To say "stop all AI work" is way too generalist when 99% of AI work is at worst benign, and much is beneficial.

probably the most depressing thing to me about AI discourse, both when i was around the rationalists and now, is that nobody seems to think "what if we just told everybody to stop working on AI" is a remotely viable option to push for in the name of safety

Has anyone made a complete list of everyone CSW has sued? Because it's starting to seem like the list of who he hasn't sued might be shorter...

@peterktodd This just gets more absurd. Code consensus fork able to send what he wants to him if implemented & point to the fact that you can't control what other users do & the fork was rejected. If someone made BTC, they'd really want it broken & devalued like this? Such a circus act.

The judgement really sounds like the appeal judges think it'd be cool to see the fiduciary duty issue tried in court. Never mind the fact that there's less than zero evidence Wright actually had billions stolen from him. A sane system would have jailed him for perjury already.
WizSec Bitcoin Research@wizsecurity

Can Bitcoin developers be legally compelled to try to alter Bitcoin to reassign stolen coins back to original owners? A UK court has decided that a claim brought by a liar who never owned and wasn't robbed of the coins in question is the perfect case to try this question.

@CryptoBullzzz @JeffKirdeikis 2. Yes, I mean savings as in investing, but didn't differentiate because I mean it in comparison to spending. 4. I hope so, but that has not been my experience. :)

@AshCrypto @JeffKirdeikis 1. What do you mean? 2.vast majority of wealthy people became so by good careers and investing. Saving is the worst way to become rich. 4. I'd say this is what majority think.

@CryptoBullzzz @JeffKirdeikis 1. I get flak for teaching my kids life skills bc "they're just kids". Okay, so do I wait until they're 25 to teach them to budget and wash their clothes? Some seem to think that they wake up at 18 and somehow magically gain the ability to adult.

My controversial opinions 🔽🔽
Ash R@AshCrypto__

@JeffKirdeikis I have a few: 1. Parents who raise children are failing. 2. Most wealthy people become so by saving, not by making the next big app. 3. Entrepreneurship is a valid career seen as synonymous w/ unemployment in traditional education. 4. Kindness, Compassion, Empathy are underrated.

@idavidrein @Mario_Gibney I was considering this as well. As long as it is sending in or out, it could send itself out, one small piece at a time and reassemble itself on the other side, so to speak. You can build a house one brick at a time, an AGI could potentially move itself one byte at a time.

@Mario_Gibney Are we interacting with the system in any way? If so, that’s information going in and out, regardless of having different layers of simulation. If you can guarantee that no info gets in or out, then I do think that’d be pretty safe! But it’d also be completely useless

When I sigh, my dog wags his tail. After sighing, I always turn to him and pet him because it's comforting/reassuring. Now, whenever I sigh, I instantly look over for his wag, because it always cheers me up. :) No one can love you quite like a dog does lol

working on and trying to figure out a way to bypass a filter that strips a front slash. https:// becomes https:/ no matter how many slashes I add, and it won’t allow me to add url encoded chars so can’t fool it with double encoding, damn it, any tips?

@satoshinakaguap @halfin @_PIVX That doesn't guarantee privacy on Bitcoin at all. It makes it more probable, but there are still a number of steps that can be used to associate addresses with each other, IP addresses, personal information, other pseudonyms, and so on.

@AshCrypto @halfin @_PIVX So privacy is guaranteed given you take extreme levels of caution. Use a new address each time, use different wallets. Exchanges that don't need your info, don't share your address publicly. This is obsolete with PIVX hence my point given that it provides complete anonymity.

Satoshi perhaps @halfin intended Cryptocurrency to be a private alternative digital cash. Other coins can keep his vision. @_PIVX utilises it’s modified version of zk-SNARK sapling protocol dubbed “SHIELD” to provide just that. Focus more on privacy coins. You’re gonna need it.
