hamilton lived with diabetes for 4 years, doing twice-a-day insulin shots. he handled it like a champ. I miss how loudly he snored at night. it was a sound that, after a decade, became a constant sound that soothed me to sleep.

there’s still litter on my bathroom floor, but he’s not here. it’s something that has driven me crazy in the years as he got older and stopped using the toilet. but now I don’t want to sweep it up. i’m afraid seeing a clean floor will remind me he’s gone.
