The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our San Dimas Sheriff’s Deputy who passed away after suffering a medical emergency while participating in the 2026 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay race. The Deputy was among numerous law enforcement personnel representing their agencies at this annual event when the medical emergency occurred. Despite receiving medical care, the Deputy ultimately passed away from their injuries. The Deputy’s family has been notified and the Department has been coordinating with them to provide support and resources. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Deputy’s family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. The loss of our beloved Deputy, a 13-year veteran, is felt across the entire LASD family. We ask our community to join us in honoring our Deputy’s service and keeping his loved ones in your thoughts during this challenging time.

Why the secrecy? The public deserves answers on how much is being spent and why projects are so expensive. We need to stop the waste of taxpayer dollars. This is just common sense and good government.

The California lawmakers in charge of the Capitol Annex Project broke their promise to be more transparent. They refuse to hand over key cost records, stating that keeping them secret is in the public's best interest. After three rejected interview requests, I confronted them:
