As much as the loss of coaching tools hurts, it hurt way more to watch my players rage-quit in live sessions after getting multiple bot games in a row. EAC is a step in the right direction, but this is an excellent priority list for Epic for QOL in high-ranked gameplay.

I'm not big on the outrage right now. It was pretty cleanly implied in the twitlonger that support for Bakkesmod was probably stopping soon anyways, and it feels like we're being upset over a genuine step in the right direction.

Everyone praising this update has lost the plot. I'm calling it now: This is just a Rocket Racing ass update where they take something good from us (Bakkesmod) for temporary excitement. The bots will be back soon and we will have lost another pillar of the community for nothing.

Does esports need a new game to save it? The last real boom came from LoL, DOTA2, CS:GO and SC2 starting in the late 2000s, then PUBG, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Valorant and a few others gave the industry another push to sustain upwards momentum. But right now it feels like we’re stuck. The same titles are still here, but they’re not driving new growth. Viewership has slowed, storylines are stale, and publishers, TOs, brands and other stakeholders are struggling to make the economics work. For over a decade, the industry has relied on new games to reset the cycle, to bring fresh players, new narratives and new energy. But that’s also the problem because it means the health of esports is tied to whether the next “big one” arrives. And what if it doesn’t? Maybe the question isn’t “what’s the next game,” but “how do we build an ecosystem that doesn’t collapse when there isn’t one?” Thoughts?

@hotshot_rl i find it's better to go in with a specific goal outside of winning. play as aggro as possible, don't let a single aerial go, spam air dribble bumps, etc.. 1's is incredibly monotonous, as it's the highest scoring gamemode with the least inter-game variety. extra goals help.

we need better competitive infrastructure so players in this tier have a place to showcase themselves outside of regionals. as much as 20 team majors would slap, its not gonna move the needle on viewership enough to justify the cost. We need to start supporting A-tier Lans again.
