Learning about red wolves, 4th grade had an awesome lesson with Champions for Wildlife! Not only did they walk away with these awesome sculptures, they also have a newfound knowledge and appreciation of these native animals. 🐺 #WeAreATK🐾

Did you know that on September 17, 1787 the Founding Fathers signed the Constitution? In the days leading up to this historic anniversary, our Cougars took time to learn about the Constitution, discussing its importance and lasting legacy. #WeAreATK🐾

Today be National Talk Like a Pirate Day, and Mrs. Jackson’s 3rd graders set sail on the morning announcements. 🌊⚓ They didn’t just talk like pirates... they sang like 'em too, and shiver me timbers, it was a treasure! #WeAreATK🐾

With 98% participation, our K, 2, 4 Lunch & Lead was a roaring success! Serving up yummy food and a good portion of literacy, Cougar Families got to experience CKLA firsthand. We're looking forward to welcoming our 1, 3, 5 families for their Lunch & Lead, tomorrow. #WeAreATK🐾

4th graders journeyed to the Cradle of Forestry, where they explored North Carolina’s rich forestry heritage, discovered fascinating native wildlife, & got up close with unique botanical species. 🌲🐻🌿 #WeAreATK🐾

Last Wednesday, the Flat Rock Playhouse came and performed two shows for our Cougars - "Letterland Alive!" & "Greetings from NC." Both staff & students look forward to these shows each year and we're grateful to have such a prestigious instituion in our backyard. 🎭 #WeAreATK🐾

Bidding farewell to summer, Ms. Bristol's 3rd graders did a wonderful job singing on the Friday morning announcements. 🍂 It has been a wonderful week at ATK and we know next week will be just as grand. Don't forget - picture day is Monday! #WeAreATK🐾

Can you believe that we've been in school for a month now? The year is off to a great start! Our Cougars are having so much fun learning, reconnecting, and getting back into the swing of things. We can't wait to see what lies ahead. #WeAreATK🐾

Thank you to Jeter Mountain Farm for hosting our 1st graders last week! These Cougars enjoyed a tractor ride, picked apples, and watched cider pressing in action. 🍎 #WeAreATK🐾

The rain didn't slow these Cougars down as they participated in their first Mountain Roots event of the year! Using our very own nature trail, 5th graders got to observe, explore, and learn in the great outdoors. #WeAreATK🐾
