@ShalalaShalulu @pitchfork Yes but if you acknowledge her as the alt then she’s not the direct source for what’s moving in the genre. Consider the current artists in R&B. They’re more reflective of Brandy. And I love JJ but the current music tells the story. Janet is in her own category.

I have been saying this for like 8 years

Black people don’t hold the line on anything disrespectful to us, and it’s actually so sad. An album, a tour is all it’ll take for yall to welcome this man back into the culture fold.

Black publications very much assist in the lack of integrity when it comes to holding artists and celebrities accountable— they’d rather rage bait their readers, than simply not platform them anymore after several major infractions against the community as a whole.
