Toho used to regularly make great original kaiju from Hedorah to Biollante to Orga. Now even the Monsterverse outdoes their meagre, lousy output. Frankly embarassing.
Toho need to step up their game. It's been decades since a great new Toho kaiju.

@spankzilla85 @KaijuPictures I can’t help but feel like revisiting cancelled projects like Godzilla vs. Red Moon or Godzilla vs. M could work in today’s environment. The problem is that everyone would compare something like that to Minus One. I don’t see Versus Films doing so good with general audiences.

@KaijuPictures The unfortunate reality is that, for both the Heisei and Millennium eras, “new monsters” resulted in consistent financial disappointments for Toho.
Biollante, Space G, and Megaguirus all under-performed. Sure those characters are classics NOW but not at the time. (1)
