All of the talented players in the Turkish national team are still in their early 20s. We don't have a talent problem. We ended up in this situation because of Montella, that tactically clueless Italian. There are still a lot of talented young Turkish players coming through, both from Türkiye and from the Turkish diaspora. If not today, then tomorrow, Türkiye will achieve a major success again. But you should look at your own Iranian team. Other than Taremi, you don't have any good players, and he's already very old. The Turkish national team is a much bigger force than yours in every way. Persians have a funny disease of seeing themselves as greater than they are. It's sad.

This 48-team format has ruined the World Cup. Teams like Iraq, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Qatar, Curaçao, and Haiti simply don’t belong on football’s biggest stage.
