My starting soon can average between a couple minutes to sometimes closer to 10 minutes depending on if it’s a collab (can be longer or short depending on pre stream setup and who I’m collating with) or if I’m streaming solo and miss a few things (can take up to 5min) so I guess it just depends on what you wanna do! Best thing to do it test it out and see what works best for you! I like to have at least 3-5 minutes at the start for some people to come in then yap to them while I finish setting up or figure out what I wanna play that day (thanks ADHD) 😂

Some of the biggest vtubers out there have massively long starting soon screens. PorcelainMaid for instance has a 20 minute long one. Should I have a 20 minute starting soon screen?

One thing I told a friend today is never feel guilty about expressing your concerns for ur friends. But also to remember over time, people will begin to show their true colors. Never stay when you give your all to people who treat you as an “option”.

One thing I’ve been told over and over again is make sure to cut out really and long periods of silence unless there important game dialog or cutscenes! This will help make the video shorter and easier to edit in sounds and other effects since you won’t have a 3+ hour video to go through and more closer to maybe an hour or two ~ This obviously depends on what kind of editing style you’re going for and how much yapping you do! Some people opt to even cut out anything aside from important dialogue, funny moments or intense situations leaving just the fundamental parts. I hope this helps a bit and isn’t too confusing 🥹

If my various health problems, both physically and mentally, didn’t exist I would be unstoppable but best I can do right now is get out of bed so that’s something? I can one day hope to return to something normal but for now all I can do is exist and be a delusional anime character online.

I will not name drop or even hint because I’m not that kind of person and for all I know the interaction I had with them could not be who they really are for all I know but all I know is I’ve had more than one bad experience with more than one “bigger” vtuber, some got solved easily and we all good, others not so much that it now scares me to even want to interact with anyone bigger than I am in case they take what I say in text the wrong way and all of a sudden I’m a bad person, yknow?

Really learning that some bigger vtubers only know how to have hostile conversations instead of civil ones. Such a shame. Really hate the toxic vtuber space Twitter has created. If my opinion doesn’t match someone else’s guess I should just end it all cause that’s how it makes me feel sometimes lol. Probably going to avoid interactions from here on out, I’ve lost all faith in the kindness of people online (outside of those I’ve already interacted with).

It really is whatever works best for you. If you do it through VGen you’ll have a bigger discoverability and with their policies for overdue/late art and refunds both you and the ‘person who commissioned you can feel secure that they won’t be scammed. Plus VGen support is quite helpful :D It’s also nice cause you can have all your prices and TOS laid out front and centre so people know exactly how much it going to cost and what your own TOS/Rules are before committing to a commission. But again, it’s really whatever works best for you.

Asking anyone that could answer... Is my method of payment for my Art Commissions ( directly via PayPal for international comms) fine? Or is there a benefit for me to go over to sites like VGen or I don't know, Ko-fi or something?

I had not seen this post (must’ve missed it when I was diving into the drama) and yes this changes things but again, you’d rather his subject minors in the audience he has to literal porn then just say “hey man, me and my team fucked up so I can’t keep up my end of the bargain but here’s the complete amount of money for a proper commission to make up for the fact that I can’t expose this stuff to minors”. Yes he and his team are in the wrong for agreeing to terms they were literally told about but maybe thought it wouldn’t be as graphic? But also the creator going around and harassing him despite him literally trying to fix the fuck up is also kinda meh on their part but sure yeah we can say it’s more valid than the fuck up itself.
