We’re told this doesn’t happen and isn’t their position. But it’s also already policy in CA, where “Medi-Cal spending has nearly doubled to $200 billion” under Newsom, in part due to illegal immigrant healthcare — which the gov has partially curtailed due to out-of-control costs: calmatters.org/health/2026/03…

Moderator: Should California give free healthcare to illegal aliens? Porter: "Yes. That's what Californians deserve."

After six months and nearly 1,000 cases, the South Carolina measles outbreak is officially over. How'd they do it? "Measles vaccinations were the most effective single containment tool." abcnews.com/Health/after-1…

Their only principle on the left is that their side deserves power. They lost control of the court and suddenly we needed to expand the court. They lost the electoral college so we needed to get rid of it. They struggled to pass bills and then all flipped on the filibuster.

I agree Republicans should do this. Their bill should 1) Ban mid-decade redistricting. 2) Require states to draw districts that follow county lines and city lines. 3) Favor compactness. 4) Make it clear the VRA's pro-racial-gerrymander provisions are subordinate to the above.
gato fumante@KweenInYellow

@TPCarney Okay so then where's the Republican standalone bill to ban political gerrymandering?

when spacex was getting started, the first and last men to walk on the moon testified before congress against it. gene cernan told congress commercial space companies "do not yet know what they don't know." he said the boeings and lockheed martins were "the folks who have been working on everything we've done for the last 50 years. they know how it can be done." neil armstrong said he was "not confident" the newcomers could achieve their goals. together with jim lovell they warned it would put america on "a long downward slide to mediocrity." spacex now launches more rockets than every country on earth combined. the experts will always tell you it can't be done. build it anyway!

We’ll get into this more on the next Tri-State episode, but I really don’t think the #Isles gave up too much for Schenn. At that point, with the team still in a playoff spot, doing nothing or moving guys like Lee and Pageau probably would’ve felt like a slap in the face to both the room and the fans. I’d rather see a GM take a shot and try to help the team win than just stand pat. And in the bigger picture, it’s not a move that really changes their long term trajectory all that much. Send us your voicemails! speakpipe.com/TriStateHockey…

All you have to do is listen to Darche’s trade deadline interview with Tri-State hockey to understand his thinking. He wouldn’t have made the move for Schenn if they were 3-4 points out, but they were barely in playoff position. This outcome was never worth the risk #Isles
