@drbarnard @eliajf @dwlz @stephenchayes @rjonesy Whether they are making stuff up or just grossly incompetent, I don't know. I definitely got a different story, along with different dates, from every person I spoke with. Eventually, it worked out. So there's hope.

@eliajf @dwlz @stephenchayes @rjonesy @BFormations 🤦‍♂️ Apparently they also just make stuff up. I was told on the 6th that the next batch of checks wasn’t going out until “late January”. Maybe I missed the cutoff for “mid January”? Or maybe she was just trying to set my expectations that I wouldn’t get the check until late-Jan?

😡 If Angeion Group is the best, I’d hate to see the worst. It’s been two weeks since I emailed them about fixing my settlements with the Small Developer Assistance Fund and haven’t heard anything.

@ChasingSound Hoping we see the EVH 126 (semi-hollow Wolfgang’s been playing). Haven’t heard about much other than that.

@drbarnard @eliajf @rjonesy This is good to hear. My latest inquiry was ignored and I still haven't received the check that was supposedly sent on the 15th, 16th, or 19th, depending on who I talked to.

@eliajf @BFormations @rjonesy I got one of my two check. The tiny one. They told me they would send both checks to the address in the affidavit that was signed for the one check. Then last week I called to confirm and the person was obviously just BSing me and didn’t actually know what was going on. 🤬

@eliajf @rjonesy @drbarnard I’ll update you. Supposedly my case has been escalated and I have a direct contact, but so far they’ve not been able to give any better answers than calling the main line.

@rjonesy @eliajf @drbarnard They told me they’d get back to me with tracking, but of course never did. I’m going to get back in touch tomorrow and ask what happens if we haven’t received anything by the end of distribution date on the 31st.

@eliajf @BFormations @drbarnard Mine said to go out on Dec 27. Asked for tracking and if I had to sign to receive - no reply.

@eliajf @rjonesy @drbarnard Anyone get their check yet? We were assured ours went out on the 16th, or the 15th, or last Monday… depending on who we talked to.

@BFormations @rjonesy @drbarnard That’s great. I have heard that exact story on Dec 5 though, so will believe them myself when I get either a tracking number or a check in my grubby little hands.

@eliajf @rjonesy @drbarnard They emailed us today and told us our check would be going out this week. We asked for address confirmation but haven’t heard back yet.

@rjonesy @drbarnard @BFormations Got someone on the phone. I was told my check was just cut yesterday so sounds like they are in process. Hopefully we will all get our checks soon.

@rjonesy @eliajf @drbarnard Yep! I don’t think there is anything nefarious going on. It’s just being poorly managed. The lack of good communication is allowing people to jump to sinister conclusions, though. Hopefully they have someone in-house that can step in and turn things around.

@BFormations @eliajf @drbarnard Clickbait articles about apple not paying are the only thing that would matter. And that’s barely true.

@eliajf @drbarnard @rjonesy Nothing yet. I sent an email to the law firm handling the case just to make sure they’re aware of the communications problems. Doubt it will do any good.

@BFormations @drbarnard @rjonesy Any of you have any luck receiving payment? I had not received anything as of Friday and am out of town for a few days. I emailed Thur with no response, and I called and left a message and emailed again this morning.

@drbarnard @eliajf @rjonesy I do think someone should have checked the addresses on the W-9s against the claim filings and flagged those that didn’t match for verification. When I talked them, I told them the lack of communication fosters suspicion and it’s a solvable problem (e.g. status update emails).

@eliajf @BFormations @rjonesy From talking to them last week, it sounds like they are completely overwhelmed and understaffed for the fiasco that was created by sending checks to the W-9 address instead of the address people listed on the claim form. If they had just told us that, we could’ve updated our W-9s

@eliajf @drbarnard @rjonesy I did tell them my next step would be contacting the judge overseeing the case. They kept saying none of this is their fault, but the lack of feedback and accurate information is certainly on them. So maybe if a bunch of people start complaining to the judge that will help. 2/2

@eliajf @drbarnard @rjonesy I called them directly today (won't post the number publicly, but I'd be happy to DM it to anyone that wants it) and was told they went out on the 12th. They could not provide confirmation that our check was in the batch, though. 1/2

@ChasingSound It's very bright sounding, especially the neck pickup, but in a good way. My 16-year-old-wanna-be-metal-god self would be very upset to learn that 30+ years later, not only would he own a Tele, but he'd play it regularly.
