👋 Farewell, Sir Keir Starmer. Today, the Prime Minister announced his resignation and set out a timetable for his departure from Downing Street. While his premiership will be remembered as one of the most authoritarian in recent history, he has also served as a remarkably effective recruiting sergeant for the Free Speech Union. Since he came to power in July 2024, FSU membership has grown from 14,000 to more than 45,000. With Wes Streeting abandoning his own leadership bid, it now appears likely that the next Prime Minister will be the self-styled “King of the North”, Andy Burnham. We believe Andy may prove to be an even more effective recruiter for the Free Speech Union. Sir Keir gave off a curtain-twitching, head-of-compliance vibe that put the fear of God into anyone who cares about free speech and @AndyBurnhamGM is a bit more bloke-ish. But we expect the King of the North to start wearing the authoritarian landyard over his Everton top within days of taking power.

Hugh - what makes you think Burnham, a man that covered up the mass rape of children is a leader and one to get justice with the press? Open your eyes poppet. Leveson part 1 was a hoax. For Leveson part 2 to work, be effective and deliver justice one thing needs to happen. The entire swamp needs to be drained. That includes your pal Burnham.
