THEY FIRED THE MAN WHO TRIED TO STOP PEOPLE FROM DYING Engineer Hazar Denli designed suspension and chassis components for VINFAST while working at Tata Technologies, a division of Tata Group. During testing, parts were snapping off after just 15,000 miles. Components expected to last 93,000. Brackets falling onto the road. The front wheel structure was loosening in ways that could cause a driver to lose total control. He told his bosses. They told him the fix would delay production. VinFast had an IPO on the Nasdaq coming up, so they shipped the cars anyway. He resigned. Got a job at JLR, also owned by Tata. Then a family of four died in Pleasanton, California when their VinFast lost control, hit a pole, and caught fire. He posted on Reddit. Anonymously. Just warning people. VinFast tracked him down. Called Tata. Tata called JLR. Internal emails obtained by the BBC show Tata Technologies HR director Patrick Flood contacting JLR HR director Dave Williams with one goal: get him fired. Same day he was sacked, he was red-flagged on industry recruitment platform Magnit. Automatically rejected from any future automotive job using that system. The concern, Flood told Williams, was: "if he has done this now, he could do the same at JLR." The concern was not the dead family. The concern was the Reddit post. Denli is now at an employment tribunal. The NHTSA is investigating VinFast. There are 28 safety complaints on file. VinFast says it doesn't interfere in Tata HR decisions. Tata and JLR declined to comment. A man tried to save lives. Three corporations worked in coordination to end his career. That's not a rogue HR decision.
