Seven years ago, on 2nd April 2019, I began my walk End to End at Land's End. It was an amazing experience. Spring was unfolding across the country and I was walking along within it. You can read about it in my book about activities for pilgrims in Britain ionabooks.com/product/come-w…

Why doesn't the media talk about the peacekeepers killed by Israel in Lebanon? Israel deliberately killed three UN Indonesian peacekeeper and wounded others in Lebanon. Israel cannot continue to be treated as a full member of the UN. Attacking UN peacekeepers is an abomination which was in the past perpetrated by terrorists, but never by members of the UN. Some of you pretended to care what the UN had to say in 1948. Do you care that the UN of today has had more UN personnel killed in the last 2 years than in its history. This is the moment we can salvage what remains of the UN and international law. I call on everyone to unite for the sake of our humanity and to end impunity for violating international law.

15 million books in Ukraine are at risk of destruction. This is the number held in the collections of the Book Chamber of Ukraine, the only archive of this scale in the country. It preserves copies of books, newspapers, and magazines printed over more than a century. As a result of Russian shelling, the building and its engineering systems have been damaged, creating additional risks to the preservation of these collections. #WarCrimes

16 yo Maksym is being treated in Kyiv after a brutal Russian strike on Sumy. He has multiple injuries and shrapnel wounds to his face. He has already undergone surgery. This isn’t the first time Russians have tried to kill him. A year ago, they struck a civilian bus in Sumy, and he had to pull his injured mother out with his own hands.

ASSYRIA TODAY ܐܬܼܘܪ ܝܘܡܢܐ
This photo was taken in 1909, in the village of Hah in Tur Abdin. It shows a Syriac Orthodox Assyrian monk and nun standing quietly in front of St. Mary’s Church ⛪—one of the most ancient churches in the world, built in the 1st century. For nearly two thousand years, this sacred place carried the prayers, tears, and hopes of generations. It was more than a church—it was the heart of a people ❤️. They stand there in peace, with calm faces and gentle strength. They could not know what was coming… only a few years later, everything would be broken. A great tragedy fell upon all Christians under the Ottoman Empire—Assyrians, Armenians, Greeks, Maronites, and others ⚔️. What followed was suffering beyond words. Villages were destroyed, churches burned, and entire communities erased 💔💔. Mothers cried for their children, fathers were taken, grandparents were lost… and even babies 👶💔—innocent lives who had just begun—were not spared. Families disappeared together. Many were killed, many thrown into pits, others fled to the mountains in fear—never returning home. The result was devastating—over 3.5 million lives lost 💔. Millions of hearts broken… families gone… a whole world changed forever. Ancient churches like this one fell silent… ⛪ Homes were left empty… The land itself became full of sorrow… 😔 Those who survived were forced to leave everything behind, scattered across nearby lands and far countries, carrying only memories, grief, and broken hearts 💔. When we look at this photo today, it hurts deeply. We don’t just see a monk and a nun—we see a whole life, a whole people, just before everything was taken from them. A quiet moment before endless pain. And yet, even after all this darkness, something still lives ✨—their faith, their identity, their memory. Though hearts were shattered into pieces, they were never completely lost 🕊️. #AssyrianGenocide #Seyfo #Sayfo #Hah #Turabdin #Syriac #AssyrianHistory #Assyrian #Christian #nun #monk

"You don't hit schools, you don't hit energy sources, you don't hit bridges: those are war crimes." UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher criticises actions in the Iran war and says leaders have chosen 'game show gambling' over humanity by hitting civilian infrastructure.

❗️Crimean journalist Iryna Danylovych, illegally sentenced in Russia, is facing new torture, according to her family. Despite losing hearing in one ear, she is subjected to loud noise and bright light, with no medical care. The world must act: stop torture and secure the release of all unlawfully detained Ukrainian civilians and POWs.

A humanitarian catastrophe is unfolding in Russian-occupied Oleshky, Kherson region. A Russian war crime on a massive scale. Those poor people... Russia is effectively keeping the city under blockade: without fuel, electricity, medicine, and food. About 2,000 people currently remain in the city, including fifty children. "There is no food supply or evacuation. People are faced with a terrible choice: to wait for death by starvation or to walk miles along mined roads in search of a piece of bread, at the risk of shelling," head of Kherson military administration said in an interview with Meidas Defense. Civilians have to walk 50 kilometers to Skadovsk, the regional center, to get provisions, apply for social assistance, receive pensions, etc., because none of these services is available in Oleshky. Getting in and out of the city by vehicle is next to impossible. All transport moving along the road, referred to as "The Road of Death," is targeted by drones and shelling. Even if supplies are delivered, they rarely reach people, as Russian soldiers take up to 80% of deliveries and also steal from locals. The situation is further complicated by the collapse of the water supply. The last time Russia installed water tanks was in 2024. Now, only those living in private houses can access well water, which is not tested for safety, while others rely on melted snow during the winter. Due to the collapse of food and medical access, two or three deaths are reported daily, according to Tetiana Hasanenko, head of the Oleshky city military administration. The hospital is treating only Russian military personnel, she says. The causes of death include malnutrition, heart attacks, traumatic amputations, blood loss, and hypothermia amid a severe winter and a prolonged heating crisis. According to Hasanenko, there are currently 318 identified victims, including 246 wounded and 72 dead. In many cases, identification is not possible. 📷: 34th Marine Brigade, Igrik Kherson/Facebook
