i recommend this piece as a primer for the anti-orthogonality pov! if you're convinced of orthogonality, or find yourself somewhere in the middle like me, i think it raises some interesting points and is worth reading even if you disagree with the conclusions.

@arvofart That is to say: the game sounds great, and I do want to play it some day, and I'm sure that a movie or TV adaptation would be inferior to the game itself. I just don't know if I'll ever actually start, let alone finish, the game.

@arvofart Honestly, I would be more likely to watch a good RDR movie, or maybe even a TV show, than play the game, just because I really don't feel like I have the time to invest more than about 30 hours in any single piece of media these days. (Disco Elysium was riiiiiight at the limit.)

There are the bones of a good movie in both Red Dead games, but as much as I love the writing in those games, it defeats the purpose to passively watch a version of it where you don’t get to live as a cowboy.

Colorado’s law was a clear cut First Amendment violation. I’m not surprised it’s 8-1.

The court's first and only opinion for the day is in Chiles v. Salazar, on whether a Colorado law barring conversion therapy violates free speech. The opinion is from Justice Gorsuch and the vote is 8-1, with Justice Jackson dissenting.

An LLM is a little guy who lives in the computer. It has neurological problems, but it's really smart.
