to be completely #honest, ever since The Batman not a single comic book movie has achieved even half what that film did with it’s visuals, like they set the bar so damn high. now it’s just all so bland, flat and uninspired. what a real shame

-Penguin using penguins in his crimes.
-Catwoman actually using her costume along with whips/claws

If I had a nickel for every time a DC cinematic universe started with a Superman movie and then his solo sequel turned into a Justice League prequel, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice

@jspin2dasequel No, it honestly reeks of Gunn’s writing style, his sense of humor, and his particular interests in the DC Universe. I think what’s hard to rationalize is that he’s a hack who lacks ingenuity.

@EverythingDCU_ What outer space adventure? The training montage he abandoned? The diarrhea poo monster? Reynold’s GL suffered from ugly VFX and its extremely dull earthly plot. The fandom wants Star Wars and it keeps getting 1987’s Masters of the Universe.

But Lanterns should be space fantasy with all the cool CGI shit and outer space adventure.
Last time they did that, they had to retire the IP for decades. Not to mention the bad press for years by Ryan Reynolds. This is the reintroduction of the buried IP to general audience and imo is the best possible way.

No bullshit, if they didn’t show the ring and have it say “Lanterns” then you’d have no fucking idea it was comic book related. That’s the problem.
You made a Green Lantern show and it was fucking brown and grey. The cosmic heroes, with a literal slogan IN BRIGHTEST DAY, and it’s some cheap Yellowstone/True Detective knockoff.
Im beyond annoyed. I’m furious. And I’m over it

The Lanterns trailer is very good; if it were an HBO police series... But as a trailer for Green Lantern, it's a disappointment.
