Just finished a report saying apprenticeships policy is a disaster for creative industries, but if its not even working for construction then really what is the point of the policy? (from today's excellent @FT Inside Politics newsletter by @georginaquach ft.com/content/1e66d2…)

The AMPTP's failure to address the WGA's legitimate issues in negotiations has pushed entertainment workers and their unions together into unprecedented solidarity. Proud to walk the line with our @WGAEast & @WGAWest kin and so many other entertainment unions.

@92Tevs @BECTUTouring Thanks Thomas. Always answer on what you think is realistic. If you think our advice on what you should realistically ask for as an opening gambit is too high or too low, let us know. We're most interested in what you beleive a professional minimum should be though.

So for instance, take 1980. Back then, official BoE interest rates were on average 14.2%. But because people were much less heavily indebted, because their incomes were much higher vs their repayments, that was, in affordability terms, EQUIVALENT to 3% in today’s interest rates.

Y'days post: How to judge fiscal policy in the time of Truss mainlymacro.blogspot.com/2022/09/how-to… The reason the government doesn't want an OBR forecast with its forthcoming tax cuts is that the OBR would show tax cuts having little impact on growth and being unsustainable in the medium term.

This 👇 shout out to all the @Bectu members in OB teams who have down a brilliant job covering the funeral today and to all those who are working to bring us the excellent coverage via the BBC and other Broadcasters

In all seriousness, this is the Everest of outside broadcast and they are pulling it off flawlessly. And invisibly: not a cable, mic, or camera to be seen.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such a negative reaction to a budget across the media and economic wonk-land.
