@edwonkkimmy Would you consider this family that accessed private SPED interventions as giving their child an edge or perhaps helping their child reach their potential? Maybe edu discussions should center around low value practices versus high leverage practices. tatyanaelleseff.com/breaking-barri…

Sounds like the NHL will be expanding to just one city (Houston likely with Austin a possibility) as early as the 28-29 season with another possible expansion team joining the league a few years later. The Friedkin family, among the largest Toyota private distributors in the world, are considered very serious buyers.

Karen Vaites reviews a new reading instruction report showing that despite state laws banning bad teaching methods, many teachers still use them. Good reading programs help teachers learn better practices, but states keep approving low-quality curricula. The takeaway: passing education laws doesn't automatically change what happens in classrooms. With 2% of all US workers being teachers, real change requires long-term support and training, not just policy mandates. karenvaites.org/p/the-new-ford…

The "skills vs. knowledge/content" argument has come up when opposing the reading list: "Decades of educational research show skill development is just as important as content knowledge, yet these recommendations crowd out the time students need to develop essential skills to analyze multiple perspectives." (my newsletter tomorrow is on this debate)

@mandylorianm 3/ If your son has a history of forming close friendships, he willl have that success once the surgies subsides. I know it sucks right now! BTW, our youngest w/ ADHD, DLD, & speech difficulties has been bullied too. Developing close friendships for him is much more challenging.

@mandylorianm 2/ His close friends in high school friends are not the friends from elementary & middle. He developed new friends at each stage because of what you mentioned - - the friends are moving in different directions.

@mandylorianm 4/ Your son will find his tribe. Continue to keep him involved in activities that interest him & love on him in the meantime.

@mandylorianm 3/ With that being said, he told us the social landscape & clique’s in high school are absolutely brutal and that fitting in & finding your tribe is a challenge. Also, I teach in higher ed & many of my lovely students w/ solid communication skills have said the same.

@FreddyLA7 That’s why we love you! You would never get ripped off & pay those prices. It’s a flaw in US system.

Just to clarify we never had tickets for the Germany - Ecuador game. We would‘ve needed to buy on the resale market and this is how prices are looking like for that match at the moment. We’d rather save that money and use it for knockout-stage tickets instead.
