THE most important thing in sales is frame control. What you need to realize is that every conversation is vying for the frame between you and your prospect. They're trying to treat you like a salesperson, and you're trying to get them to sell to you, essentially. It's a delicate balance of tug of war. What you need to do is make sure that they're in your frame from the beginning. A lot of salespeople just start saying what they can do, how they can help. What you need to do to sell more deals is, from the second they join the call, get them to sell to you, get them to play into your frame. Make the conversation about them explaining to you why they need your good, your product, your service, your offer, and you will close WAY more deals. I can confidently say now, not only can I close extremely consistently with qualified opportunities, I can also close with very high velocity. And the primary reason for that is I make them always play into my frame. This doesn't matter if I'm interviewing or if I'm selling somebody something. Every time I get on a call with somebody, they are going to play into my frame. I never break frame, and basically let them control or dictate the conversation. I don't start over explaining myself. The second that you break frame, it is impossible to regain it. All you have to do is make the prospect break frame once, and then the deal is yours. You need them selling to you. You need to have them fighting on their back feet, push and pull, ebb and flow, lean back; let them lean forward, and you’ll almost certainly be marking that deal closed won..
