Money is one of the major deciding factors in politics that guarantees unflinching influence. With the exception of Buhari—and maybe Kwankwaso in recent history—the likes of Tinubu, Wike, Atiku etc. spend heavily on their people, structure, stakeholders etc. to remain relevant.

Yup. I think the strategists running things behind the scenes for the coalition know how Tinubu operates in politics. They predict his political moves most of the time. From the coalition formation to alignment to protest, you can see that veterans are in charge. Lessons!

PDP PAYS SOLIDARITY VISIT TO ADC
The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) @OfficialPDPNig paid a solidarity visit to the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over the recent political attacks targeted at Nigeria’s opposition parties.
During the visit, the PDP acknowledged the growing and shared threat confronting opposition political parties in the country, noting that similar pressures have been experienced by the PDP in recent times. The delegation emphasized the need vigilance in the face of actions capable of undermining democratic principles and political plurality.
The high-level PDP delegation comprised:

That's the thing. It's the "conquest" that made it so, it was already so. This tells you the "conquest" was about something else other than cultural domination.

I’ve written on this before but the Fulani conquest of Hausaland resulted in an unusual outcome. Normally when a tribe/nation conquered another, a couple of things happen or a combination of these things: 1. A dichotomy ensues in which the conquering tribe retain its language, culture and customs at a higher level in the society while the conquered tribe retains such but on a lower level. This is evident throughout Africa with European colonization. 2. The conquered tribe losses its own culture, language and customs and adopts that of the conquering tribe again evident in Africa but also in the Maghreb with Arab conquest. None of these happened with the Fulani conquest of Hausaland. The Fulani language and nomadic way of life is viewed on a lesser level and their culture has been largely diluted in the lands they conquered. Adamawa is probably the only Kingdom that received Sheikh Usman Dan Fodio’s flag and still retain some sort of resemblance to Fulani ways. None of the other 14 or 17 “ardodi” speak or retain Fulani culture today. Take Nupe land for example, the Etsu Nupe looks aesthetically Fulani and he is by blood but everything about him and the other ruling class is Nupe, from language to customs and traditions. It’s a strange outcome, Fulani achieved political hegemony over Hausaland but lost its culture along the way. I can’t think of any other conquest that resulted in a similar outcome.

Ibrahim Geidam was Mamman Ali's deputy. Then went on to be sworn in as governor 3 times. First to complete his boss tenure when he died in 2009.

Breaking: Reports emerging from Jigawa State indicate that the 2023 PDP governorship candidate and son of former governor Sule Lamido, Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido, is on the verge of decamping to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It was also reported that Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi has extended an offer to him to become his running mate in the 2027 election.
