I've been so inspired watching the Paralympics over the last 10 days. Well done to everyone who has competed for your incredible athleticism, determination, and sportsmanship. To Team USA—you've made our country proud, and I wish you much continued success.

My statement on today’s deposition.

As someone who grew up in a home with domestic abuse, not only would I not have flown on his plane if I had any inkling of what he was doing—I would have turned him in myself and led the call for justice for his crimes, not sweetheart deals.

Reverend Jackson never stopped working for a better America with brighter tomorrows. Hillary’s and my full statement on the passing of our dear friend:

Lee Hamilton was a national treasure whose decades of service in Congress improved the lives of the people of Indiana and strengthened America’s security and standing in the world. And his important work after leaving elected office, including as Vice Chair of the 9/11 Commission, showed just how much we can contribute as private citizens. I liked and respected him very much and give thanks for his long, good life. My thoughts are with his family.

What DOJ has released thus far, and the manner in which it has done so, makes one thing clear: someone or something is being protected. We don’t know who, what, or why. We do know this: we need no such protection. It's why only the Clintons have called for a public hearing.

I will not sit idly as they use me as a prop in a closed-door kangaroo court by a Republican Party running scared. If they want answers, let’s stop the games & do this the right way: in a public hearing, where the American people can see for themselves what this is really about.

Now, Chairman Comer says he wants cameras, but only behind closed doors. Who benefits from this arrangement? It’s not Epstein’s victims, who deserve justice. Not the public, who deserve the truth. It serves only partisan interests. This is not fact-finding, it’s pure politics.

I have called for the full release of the Epstein files. I have provided a sworn statement of what I know. And just this week, I’ve agreed to appear in person before the committee. But it’s still not enough for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee.

NEW: The Clintons have both agreed to testify in the Epstein investigation in February, and are asking for PUBLIC hearings. Comer had demanded this AM that depositions be on video.

They negotiated in good faith. You did not. They told you under oath what they know, but you don’t care. But the former President and former Secretary of State will be there. They look forward to setting a precedent that applies to everyone.

Over the course of a lifetime, we face only a few moments where the decisions we make and the actions we take will shape our history for years to come.  This is one of them.

SPOILER ALERT: We have offered to help, we have helped, and to this very moment we are ready to help. But the Republicans REFUSE to say YES.

Congratulations to @IndianaUniv on an historic season and for bringing home the National Championship Trophy to Bloomington. A remarkable accomplishment and a proud moment for the university, its alumni, and the entire state of Indiana!

This MLK Day, as everything Dr. King lived and died for—and the entire American experiment—is threatened, we must take his teachings to heart. That justice, equality, and peace are worth the struggle. That the greatness of America is the right to protest for right. And that every person has a moral obligation to stand up to oppression. We can’t afford to ignore his wisdom and his example of action.
