Saw "The Substance" this weekend and it is a SFX and Foley extravaganza! Great work by the sound crew on that one.

@BillMellow @The_BAC @JohnSawa @EventideAudio If it's pass-by feet, you can automate the noise band easily with SHIFT-Drag and get a kind of Doppler effect.

@The_BAC @JohnSawa @EventideAudio @thecargocultnz I took some time this morning to explore Subquake on feet, and ya that's pretty nifty for adding some subtle beef. In the past I've tried Subharm, RBass and BassXL and they results were ok, but not great.

@BillMellow @JohnSawa Heck yeah dude. Got a few different things going on for foley. 4 insert returns coming in: reverb and pitch/effects coming from the @EventideAudio H9000 and then @thecargocultnz Subquake/subharm as well as a plug h3000 for other cool fx all printed to “tape”.

I'm out with a friend right now to see a movie. For an entire week, he kept calling it "Monkey Man." I thought he meant Godzilla x Kong. I did not know there was a film named Monkey Man...

I've fully recovered from surgery that I had in the fall and just yesterday my first follow-up CT scan came back clean!

After we finished, the film was bought by Universal and another round of conforms and mixing was completed in LA by the fine folks at Formosa. I look forward to seeing the new version from what we worked on. Its a good film, I really liked it.

Nice to see that Dev Patel's Monkey Man is getting a good response from tonight's SXSW screening. Quite the journey for me on this film. It's some of the best work I've done but also learned I had kidney cancer while in the middle of a mix review with Dev.
