@ptprotagonist I would give anything to not have another Nojima/Nomura special but FF16 kinda proves that unless you have witty banter and hype moments/aura farming people don't consider it FF so we're locked into another 10 years of timeline shenanigans and mystery boxes I'm afraid.

Nearly 3 years later and it still amazes me that Square Enix managed to tastefully represent gay characters in a way that didn’t feel contrived.
Tons of media, game media still have a hard time writing with this type of grace.

I’m still so happy that Final Fantasy XVI had an explicit on screen gay romance. It’s genuinely so heartwarming to me and a huge step forward for representation in mainstream media.
