Interesting to see the Pope refer to "descendants of Abraham" - Jews, Christians, Muslims - and then say "we are this immense people".
Which he contrasts with "those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic and political gain"

I notice that Jeremy Vine covered my story this morning about the Reform UK prize fix.
He had Anne Widdecombe on and asked her about it in a joking fashion, and Anne was comfortably allowed to bat it away as a conspiracy, despite being shown the picture I found of her and Raymond Dibble together.
I suppose I should be grateful for a name check, he called me 'critics on the internet'. 😂
Surely, that's slightly disparaging to Byline Times, who ran it on their front page for four days.
But it's just another Reform UK day whereby they fix a competition in an election period, and have it laughed off by our media.

Trump, MAGA, Farage, Reform and GB News hate the UK and want us to believe the UK is a failing state compared to the USA.
The facts disagree.
On practically every measure of quality of life, health, safety, education, environment, the UK would rank as the best state in America.
The land of the "free " (where people get yanked off the street by masked men) is also the land of half a million medical bankruptcies a year and the world’s largest prison population.
This is the reality.

If the UK joined the US as the 51st state. We would be the poorest state in the entire union. Mississippi which is portrayed at swamp dwelling hillbillies in majority of international media is above us. I don’t think people grasp how far we’ve fallen in real terms when it comes to GDP per capita. We’ve seen no growth for almost an entire generations. We’ve seen our productivity decrease and our tax increases. The average person on the UK, on £50,000 is less well off than your average Mississippi swamp dweller.

Absolutely horrific night in Ukraine last night - 44 ballistic missiles and 659 drones fired from Russia. Deaths in Kyiv, Odessa and Dnipro. Not even bothering to hide the fact that it is residential areas under attack. Barely on the news outside Ukraine. And @JDVance says he is proud that USA has pulled its support so the aggressor can keep aggressing. Disgusting. But Europe has to do even more now

This would be a two or three week news story in a previous administration, and might even lead to the resignation of the defense secretary. He literally fabricated a Biblical quote, based off of a movie, while pretending to be a pious Christian.

Matthew Goodwin, Reform candidate, ChatGPT plagiariser, GB News regular was an MCC fellow. Fellows get paid up to €10,000 a month. Reform won’t say what he received.
These aren’t coincidences. NatCon conferences. The Free Speech Union. Think tanks. Media. All roads lead back to Budapest.
Orbán lost on Sunday. His British network is still standing, still shilling against their own country.

Investigative journalists at the Hungarian outlet Direkt36 obtained leaked tapes of Orbán on the phone with Putin. On those tapes, the man who spent 16 years publicly raging against George Soros, EU bureaucrats, and shadowy foreign interference... described himself to the Russian president as a mouse and Putin as a lion.
The crowd that showed up to Heroes' Square in Budapest last Friday for Magyar's closing rally did not know that tape yet. But they chanted "Russians, go home." The same words their grandparents used when Soviet tanks rolled through Hungarian streets in 1956.
Magyar won with a two-thirds constitutional supermajority. Tisza was on track for 135 seats in a 199-seat parliament. Record turnout: 77.8 percent. The highest in post-Communist Hungarian history.
Orbán had the courts. The media. The rewritten rules. The oligarch money. Trump, Vance, Le Pen, Weidel, Netanyahu, Milei, a Russian intelligence team reportedly embedded in Budapest to amplify his social media campaign. Magyar had less billboard space than his opponent because the government controlled the advertising market.
Magyar held five or six campaign meetings a day in the final stretch - in small towns and villages that hadn't been visited in years. He talked about health care, schools, and the economy.
The assumption of inevitability just lost. That matters well beyond Budapest.
