A nearly-complete mural of slain Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska in Providence is being removed after Jewish Mayor Brett Smiley called for it to be taken down.
“The murder of the individual depicted in this mural was a devastating tragedy, but the misguided, isolating intent of those funding murals like the one across the county is divisive and does not represent Providence,” said Smiley.

Why hasn't this caught on in the US? They've been eating self-heating food in Japan (Bento) for several years now. They are popular in train stations and convenience stores and run between $3-$13 USD. You pull a string on the side of the box. This mixes water with a chemical (usually calcium oxide/quicklime) in a bottom compartment, triggering an exothermic reaction that produces steam and heats the meal in 5–10 minutes. The problem with modern TV is that the gap between seasons is so long that no one cares about anything anymore. It's been a year since Severance season 2. In the olden days we would already have season 3 by now. But because there's such a massive gap everyone just loses interest.

when I was a kid, adults worked really hard to make sure I could identify reliable sources of information. they made a big deal about not citing wikipedia etc. but they didn't drive home that a lot of the people talking about politics are just mentally ill and you shouldn't listen to anything they say.
the older I've gotten, the more I've seen people I know get depressed and then start talking like this. they blame their mental state on the state of the world, but the causation clearly goes the other way.
