@RugbyCollective Think it’s both really, Bath have been clinical and Sarries have been forcing a lot of offloads which has cost them and one off runners. Not many scrums so a lot of ball in play fitness required

I was expecting Bath to win, but not this comfortably or extensively. Bath just exceptional or Sarries in trouble? Or perhaps both?

This was an incredible, seemingly impromptu, moment on what has become the best studio show in sports. Bravo to all involved.

@Boostahh @hewantswealth I think a lot (most) of people would be happy with a mortgage on the same terms as a student loan!!!

@johngounaris @BBCNewsnight As always missing the point and just wanting to piss people off. It’s completely different , it’s about the interest which grows unsustainably and accrues whilst paying the loan back.

@BBCNewsnight A parent that chooses to pay £100k for their kid’s education forfeits other investments and income that would have supported their family. So the only difference is one family paying upfront and the other very gradually and with no repayments at all for the first few years.

“You're presiding over a two tier system that effectively adds a surcharge to graduates for being poorer." Max Linford, a graduate with £110,000 of student loan debt, shares his message to the Government on the impact of Plan 2 loan repayments. #Newsnight

@johngounaris @MartinSLewis I have a plan 1 repayment structure, it’s also on RPI + 3 so my interest has peaked at 6.75%. It’s not that we don’t want to pay it back , we don’t want to pay the amount in interest for 25,30,40 years and never clear a balance.

@MartinSLewis If all these changes are so unfair, why are graduates not taking commercial personal loans on more favourable terms to pay off their student loans?

The govt's Student Loan Plan 2 repayment freeze in April 2027 must be reversed. It isn't moral. I'm concerned that my debate with Kemi Badenoch this morning distracts from the most immediate problem. In April 2027 Rachel Reeves will freeze the Plan 2 student loan threshold until 2030 which by then will increase graduate repayments by £300/yr more. This is effectively a unilateral negative breach of the student loan contract. Students were told the threshold would rise with average earnings. No commercial lender would be allowed to do this. The govt shouldn't do it either. Changing the terms of future students loans is a political decision - people may not like it but it is transparent. Negatively changing the terms of contracts already signed, and long in place, is a breach of natural justice.

@johngounaris @MartinSLewis Because it isn’t the point it’s unsustainable when a balance keeps growing when you are making payments Imagine a standard mortgage where you could never clear the balance (yes I know interest only exits) it wouldn’t be accepted.

@RemoaningW @moving_charlie It’s not about the amount , it’s about the interest which grows at unsustainable rate pushing the balance up and up and up. If you had a mortgage and you never cleared the balance I’m sure you’d think it was a scam.

A painful lesson for all who Plan 2 Student Loaners, that all can learn from. You MUST calculate the interest effects on long term loans before committing. If parents pushed you into this when you didn’t know better, maybe they should pay up now?

@WiltsAnnabelle @juliamacfarlane Because like every minister the point about the growing rate of interest and payments which aren’t clearing debts is being completely ignored and attention directed at something else. Whilst it was abrupt it was needed.

@thetimes It was horrendous bullying and neither of the other presenters had the skills to step in and control the situation. Martin has campaigned for student loans in the past, describing them as good debt. Kemi has called it out, and he got riled.
