During the afcon in January, I watched the game live between Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso at the Marrakesh stadium, and I was impressed with the football CIV played. I am not surprised that they are playing well disciplined football against Germany. Good job for them so far.

The conversation about creating content with one’s child is pretty dicey. The arguments for and against are all very valid. Personally, I don’t like the idea of using a child to create content. Especially when the child is carrying the page 100%. That’s just me. On the other hand, I am of the opinion that if you want your child in front of the camera like that, just ensure that there’s the element of moderation. Children have very low attention span and they get bored. You cannot tell me that your child wants to be in front of the camera all the time. Such that when this child is not in the mood to be in your camera, you leave them alone. Because adults get high on clicks and engagement that they don’t know when they begin abusing a child because they simply don’t want to create content. A child will eventually become an adult someday and what if content creation is just not the path they want to follow? Children have autonomy, too. Exposing them to the world of the internet strips them of that autonomy way too early.

@EkunweL Also "boycotting games" like you said but that's easier for footballers who play in Europe. Track and field athletes have only National competitions to pay their bills so it's more difficult

This reminded me of the incident at the 2016 Olympics where Mikel Obi had to use his own money to pay the hotel bills for the football team. The Nigerian Olympics officials and committee did not do the simplest of jobs to book them an accommodation.

I understand the concerns on privacy and safety but what's this take? Over the years we've had kids dance for Indomie ads, biscuit ads even telecom ads. Why does this not come to your mind in those scenarios. The dance is even a child like dance. What is this mehn??

To me what’s the most hilarious is that Nigerians think we are what we are. 50% of our country is in multi dimensional poverty (please look up the “multi dimensional” part). Our life expectancy is 54 but the intelligentsia speak of Nigeria as though it’s a middle power that just needs to take a few steps and cross into world power status. Brother, the things we haven’t achieved here have been figured out in countries that are at war and have been isolated for decades. We literally cannot export yam and cassava as scale. You want someone to give you a manual on how to build roads and infra?
