Ok since a lot of you don’t get it & are sticking up for Vrabel bc he “just banged a reporter” let me breakdown the professional side of things for you guys 🗣️ It’s a long one - read if interested 👇🏻 •NFL coaches have strict personal conduct polices in their contracts •Journalists follow a code of ethics which focuses on being impartial & avoiding conflicts of interest •Both of them know their behavior is a direct violation of these policies •I know they know because there’s even one in my contract • DR repeatedly reported on AJB not being happy in PHI •MV admitted to staying in contact with AJB •DR reporting AJB wants to be in NE every few days •Wether she meant to or not by repeatedly reporting that AJB was disgruntled the info served as a NE led agenda •Questions about if the info was used strategically to devalue AJB trade value •To note: the AJB talk has suddenly died down since this all came out •While we can’t definitively say this is tampering it certainly toes the line •This is not the 1st time these 2 have been accused of this behavior •Any info DR has reported now comes into question as being compromised •DR gave up MV as a source •You NEVER give up a source •When a coach & a reporter are in an intimate relationship the motive behind the info released comes into question •A journalist serves the public & has a duty to remain impartial Journalists are responsible for their work. Your job is to find the truth, verify sources, fact-check, avoid conflict, refuse any gifts/bribes, do not have your coverage influenced by external parties, respect privacy, be delicate with sensitive information, and correct your mistakes. In sports journalism you’re expected to maintain a distance between coaches and players to ensure your reporting remains objective.
