I’m told the men hoped to make it to the Savannah Airport. When they realized they wouldn’t make it, they hoped to land at Hunter Army Airfield. When that wasn’t an option, they picked a dark place to stay away from people/buildings. They had no idea they picked a golf course!

I just spoke with the 2 men who were on board a plane that went down in the Bacon Park Golf Course last night. Both men are doing okay thanks to the plane having a parachute. I’m told their engine failed while flying over the Atlantic. They were on their way to Florida @WJCLNews

RECORD COLD: A freeze is likely across Southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry Tuesday morning. Another frost or freeze is possible Wednesday morning as well. Low temperatures are forecast to drop to the mid to upper 20s inland Tuesday morning. Even locations near the beach will dip to the low 30s. A record low temperature is likely to be broken in Savannah. A FREEZE WARNING is in effect from 9pm Monday to 9am Tuesday for much of our area. The remainder of Southeast Georgia near and south of the Altamaha River is in a FREEZE WATCH. Make sure to move plants indoors or cover them if you want to protect them from the freeze. Make sure to have a warm spot for your pets to shelter. Feels like temperatures out the door on Tuesday will be in the low to mid 20s. So make sure to grab your coat and hat! #Savannah #gawx #scwx
