『メタルスラッグ』が30周年を迎えました。 無謀にも格闘ゲームに一矢報いるために私がこの企画を起案したのは、ちょうど30歳の頃です。 まさかその企画が、30年後の今もこうして続いているなんて、当時はさすがに想像していませんでした。 私が手掛けたのは『1』から『3』までですが、その後も大勢のメタスラドッターズがバトンを繋ぎ、世代を超えてこのゲームを走らせてくれています。 ひとつのゲームが30年続くというのは、作った者の力だけで叶うものではありません。 作り手の情熱があり、受け継ぐ仲間たちがいて、そして何より、何度も遊び、愛してくれた皆さんがいたからこそ、今日の『メタルスラッグ』があります。 皆さんがモーデン軍との長い戦いに勝利してきた、その戦歴こそが、メタルスラッグの30年を支えてくれました。 あの頃、命を削るようにして作っていたゲームが、30年経った今も、こうして待ち望まれている。 それは、作り手として本当に幸せなことですし、とても誇らしいことです。 そして今、SNKが30周年にあわせて公開した、次なるフェーズを予感させるメタルスラッグの映像は、その全貌をまだ明かしてはいません。 今までとは一線を画す革命的で見たこともない『メタルスラッグ』が、いよいよ姿を現すと思うと、胸が踊り、いても立ってもいられません。 その姿が明らかになる瞬間を、私も皆さんと一緒にこの目で見届け、叫びたい！ 「ヘヴィーマシンガン！」 #メタスラ30th #MetalSlug30th #MetalSlug
