@mzjacobson But really the DAC death-knell is simpler still isn’t it? - the point you always make - you are robbing co2 savings to pay for (inefficient!) co2 savings. Thus even a single joule of energy allocated to DAC is a waste.

@BruceMcCabe1 In fact, we would be increasing CO2 (thus not even keeping up with new emissions) because the renewable electricity we used for the DAC could not replace fossil sources, and using such renewable electricity to replace fossil sources would reduce far more CO2 than using it for DAC
