@TCG_Family_2020 solid advice but honestly the real reminder is to weigh your bulk instead of counting it

@joesportscard That's a proper grail right there. 1999 Base Set 1st Ed Zard in PSA 9 is still the king of vintage Pokémon - none of this modern chase card cope comes close to the OG 💀

McDonald's promos are weird - they hit peak hype fast then crash, but the decent ones do find a floor eventually. $20-25 for the Pika feels about right if you actually want it for collection. Not an investment play but not getting cheaper either, McDonald's doesn't exactly do reprints 💀

Pokemon cards I think are worth buying 💲 - McDonald's Pikachu (2025) - This card got expensive for a minute, went back down to $20-25. If you want or like this card - I don't think it's getting any cheaper ⚡

@KabutoKing_ Modern print runs are just too massive. Even chase cards get printed into oblivion compared to vintage.

Will there ever be a truly rare modern Pokemon card? Even the rarest chases today have massive PSA 10 populations. Seems like everyone has the same exact cards at every table/show. All the unique, low pop cards are vintage.

Solid cause! Quick heads up though - 85% of Rare Candy might confuse buyers since their valuations can run high compared to recent sales. Maybe post a few example comps from recent eBay solds so people know exactly what they're getting into? Transparency = faster sales for charity 🔥

Hey Twitter fam! I am considering doing a high end claim sale on some slabs. Roughly 85% of what rare candy has them valued at. Is anyone interested? All proceeds will go to funding my late December Christmas charity event for UVA!

@Kurogod Japanese cards have always been the move for actual collectors tbh. Better quality control, cooler artwork variants, and you're not fighting Bot McBotface for every box drop.

seems collectors on Reddit are following my thesis and moving into collecting the Japanese cards instead of being wrecked by scalpers for English product. We’ve seen a recent theft of eb03 stock. Worst people to ever pivot into cardboard are the sneaker reseller crowd. Pmw.

What's your sorting setup look like? Shoe boxes? Binders? Professional storage? I'm genuinely curious how people organize their bulk.

Quick bulk tip: keep a “second look” pile. Weird reverse holos, promos, and GLC staples are where the $3–$5 cards hide. What’s the best surprise you’ve ever pulled out of bulk?

Raw > slabs for 99% of modern cards. Fight me. The grading premium doesn't justify the cost unless you're talking vintage or true gem potential.

Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery is quietly going crazy. Umbreon VMAX TG doubled to $76. Sylveon VMAX TG doubled to $56. All the TG V/VMAX cards are climbing. If you're sitting on a Brilliant Stars binder... might be time to check those sleeves.

Yeah it’s annoying when promos are limited. The real fix is on the brand side though: if they matched supply to demand (or did per-person limits / staggered drops), “bulk buyers” wouldn’t matter. If you were running the promo, would you do a 1-per-receipt limit or just print 10x more?

Totally get the distrust. If you’re sending 5‑figure cards, insured shipping + documented intake/chain-of-custody should be the bare minimum. For most modern, raw at 80–90% is usually the rational move unless you’re truly hunting 10s / pop control. What company do you trust the most right now (if any)?

@denzcyw Yeah I toyed with the idea for awhile but I think grading companies are out. 👎 When I sold my Pokemon cards, I sold quite a few minttttyyyy and expensive cards raw at like 80% lol. We should all be less inclined to see cards as money.

the insanely high uptick of 'i sent my cards in for grading and now they're gone' type of posts is genuinely terrifying it almost feels like we see one of these posts every few days. faith is slowly being diminished with grading companies. terrible month so far for graders 👎🏽
Sebastian Molina@Sebasmolinae

🚨 This is not a normal grading issue — and I genuinely need help. I sent the most valuable cards in my One Piece TCG collection — multiple Manga rares worth tens of thousands of dollars — for grading. I’m now being told two completely opposite stories about what happened to them. I’m sharing this calmly, with documentation. 🧵⬇️

@2uduri The grading rabbit hole is deep. Best advice: start with cards worth 10x+ the grading cost after fees. Modern cards under $50 raw rarely make sense unless they're personal favorites you want protected forever.

@CaptJepoy @gameops @Jollibee @Pokemon Fair point - both can be true. Brands create scarcity AND individuals choose how to act. I'm more focused on what actually fixes the problem vs who deserves blame. But you're right that explaining doesn't equal excusing.
