@CreatingDads Children and other family members have been asked to leave the house. Sometimes partners have to go in the next room for a while, but generally the fact that partners have full access has meant a rise in the number of home births in general.

@Butnotmaternity Oh that is more reassuring!! I had thoughts of partners being asked to leave their home for the day! Although shame that for mothers a home birth may have been safer from covid risk than a hospital at the peak.

@CreatingDads That figure may be misleading. My apologies, the home births, is simply the stat for the number of trusts offering home births at all. They all allowed partners to attend.

@Butnotmaternity seems totally wild that in October 30% of trusts thought it acceptable to exclude partners from their own home, in the home birth service.....When will the NHS see that having children is a team activity - and partners and supporters are crucial at all stages?

And yet, partners and doulas who help relieve so much of said depression and anxiety are not allowed to support as needed. Maybe now this has a price tag of monetary value the NHS might open up postnatal visiting and 2nd birth partners? #ButNotMaternity #Highpricetopay

I am 40 without children and no intention to have any and I saw the intention meant. But I understand the WHO should be doing better.

It’s a huge leap between “trying to conceive” and “childbearing age”. @BPAS1968 put it pretty well:

And fertility can be affected. They could have worded it "those hoping to conceive now or in the future" to be more specific. Why the outrage?!

It's the 2m rules that's keeping early labour a post code lottery, despite lateral flow tests. It's non sensical!

Wales has opened pubs and restaurants... I want to be able to tell all pregnant women that they can bring their birth partner to their 12 and 20 wk scans and all of labour. I know this is changing in some hospitals, can you confirm it’s all @Eluned_Morgan

@sophiec94 @aliciakearns @PregnantScrewed @AVMikhailova @birthrightsorg There are definitely, from our research, still trusts who only allow partners in once admitted to the delivery ward. They don't use established labour as a term now, but if you're in early labour & not admitted to delivery, many trusts websites still state partners can't come in.

@medeiros_catia @PregnantScrewed @aliciakearns @AVMikhailova @birthrightsorg As of now many trusts are allowing this now, but it does depend on social distancing abilities so it's not everywhere. Check with your community midwives again as their appointments may differ from hospitals.
