V. interesting development announced by @SaveOurSperrins this afternoon following their recent legal action against @Economy_NI following the Department's decision to ride roughshod over local consensus & popular (99.5%) opinion & questionably grant 7 mineral prospecting licences

Having noticed that the @Economy_NI website map seemed to be several years out of date I requested an update with the new Mineral Prospecting Licences noted. Sobering information into the advances of a completely unsustainable industry. Have contacted @Dept_ECC for similar info.

After lobbying @fermanaghomagh for years it's great to see them acknowledging & opposing the flawed @Economy_NI process which is in essence a 'presumption in favour' of granting mineral prospecting licences The total lack of community engagement is evident & needs to be addressed
