News coming in from #Maldah district of #WestBengal. She is Chandrima Jha. She worked in a Government Bank in #Sujapur Branch. While she was going to office with a colleague in a scooter(she was in the back seat), Islamists tried to snatch her bag. She fell from the scooter. A truck coming from the other side ran over her. She died. The Police arrested Sabir Sheikh, Hanif Sheikh and Mobarak Sheikh. The Police said that the culprits were identified after analysing CCTV footage. The incident happened in #Madhughat area under the jurisdiction of English Bazaar Police Station.

Extremely sad to know about the passing away of Gen Oberoi. Lt. Gen. Vijay Oberoi, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) former Western Army Commander and VCOAS , was a soldier’s soldier, who lost a limb in the 1965 war yet chose to stay in uniform and rise to its highest ranks. He spent his life championing the dignity of the disabled soldier, a cause that lives on in all of us who continue this work. Rest in honour, Gen Oberoi. The nation salutes you. 🇮🇳🫡
