@CBCScott Ohhh, under the clock tower, windows on 3 sides? I think you're right in that it wasn't named. He'd be happy.

A meeting room in old City Hall has been named in honour of Dale Hodges, who was the longest serving member of #yyccc. He passed away last year. The room includes the new artwork which is a fine likeness of him.

@AZee0509 I don't know if this room actually had an old name. It's on the third floor, near the kitchenette.

Sinclair was a man of great dignity, wisdom and wit who taught so many Canadians about ourselves. He shall be missed and his legacy will be long lasting. Condolences to @Niigaanwewidam and the Sinclair family. cbc.ca/news/politics/…

Saddened to hear of the passing of Sen. Murray Sinclair. I had the duty and the learning opportunity to spend a couple of years covering the Aboriginal Justice Inquiry, travelling with him and Justice Alvin Hamilton as they visited many Indigenous communities in Manitoba. 1/2

Calgary Police Service notified of ASIRT conclusion in university protest camp removal. CPS Chief Mark Neufeld has been notified by Minister of Public Safety & Emergency Services Mike Ellis that the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) investigation of the protest camp removal at the University of Calgary has been completed. Using the definition of ‘serious’ that is regularly employed by ASIRT when conducting investigations into harm caused by police, ASIRT has found that the allegation of ‘serious’ injuries cannot be verified. As a result, the matter no longer falls within ASIRT’s mandate & complaints related to the University of Calgary incident will now fall under the mandate of the CPS Professional Standards Section. To date, the Service has received eight complaints. ASIRT received the full co-operation of both the Edmonton Police Service & the CPS during the investigation. This included access to body worn camera footage where it existed & the forwarding of complaints that were made to the agency’s professional standard branches. We respect the independent oversight that ASIRT brings & thank them for their work on this matter. We remain committed to facilitating lawful, peaceful & safe demonstrations while striving to minimize impact to the community. 🌐 newsroom.calgary.ca/calgary-police…

Calgary Public Library
Calgary Public Library@calgarylibrary·
Following the containment of a recent cybersecurity breach, Calgary Public Library has now concluded its investigation and is focusing on operational recovery as it moves toward restoring full services. The Library’s Technology Team and existing cybersecurity partners engaged a Microsoft Incident Response team to support containment procedures and complete a thorough investigation. The findings of the investigation confirm that while servers were compromised, no business, employee or membership data was affected. The incident was identified as an attempted ransomware attack, which the Library’s monitoring systems successfully blocked. For information on available services and the Library’s recovery, visit calgarylibrary.ca/comeback.
