Prime Minister @narendramodi alongwith Prime Minister @MarkJCarney addressed the India-Canada CEO Forum comprising leading businesspersons from both countries. PM noted that India and Canada together represent a substantive economic force, combining capital and capability. PM highlighted key areas for joint economic cooperation, including clean energy, civil nuclear partnership, critical minerals, infrastructure and capital, manufacturing and technology-particularly AI-as well as food processing and other emerging sectors. The Forum explored avenues to deepen economic and commercial ties - with a focus on enhancing trade, investment, innovation and people-to-people linkages between India and Canada.

#WATCH | Delhi | On Economic Survey 2026, Confederation of Indian Industry Director General, Chandrajit Banerjee says, "It presents a very realistic picture of what's happening on the ground, which is a crucial and practical observation... The survey highlights the strong macroeconomic fundamentals, which remain stable and under control, especially in a world filled with geopolitical and geo-economic uncertainties. India has not only held its ground but has done so effectively. Our debt-to-GDP ratio, fiscal deficit, and inflation control efforts all reflect very positive signs... If we manage to grow at that projected rate on a higher base, it will be a significant achievement for India today... As we move forward, there will be a need for further action, especially focusing on the private sector, industry, and the competitiveness that both require. This also extends to state-level interventions, whether through ease of doing business, cost reduction, or logistics improvements..."

Director General of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Chandrajit Banerjee, lauded the India–EU Free Trade Agreement, describing it as a milestone in India’s growth story.
