Gutsy, all-out, total team & well-deserved win by the #Oilers . Skated hard and moved the puck around fast/smart all night. Shutting Vegas out of points would’ve been huge, but the win in any fashion is still big. The give a s*^% effort has gone from a 2 to a 10 the past month

100% agree that’s a smart and fair compromise, especially considering multiple pucks are used during the course of the game…versus one jersey/couple of sticks. But I’m guessing there’s a zero percent chance Hughes is giving up that jersey

Lot of people in Canada saying Jack Hughes can suck an egg when it comes to the golden goal puck. I wonder how the narrative would change had it been McDavid, McKinnon, Celebrini etc etc scoring the goal. FWIW: He can have the puck if he gives jersey/stick etc etc IMO

Personally, I think any individual wanting a one-of-a-kind memento from a team victory - especially such an historically important one for his country - is a selfish act. He scored the goal, yes. But the moment is not only his.

Is CBC even paying attention to the closing ceremonies? Any consulting of a timing sheet? Or the alphabet? They ran ads at the exact moments when a) Canadian Flag Bearers and b) Team Canada walked in. Horrid timing ruined both moments for the viewer - and the athletes

The better team lost. It happens. But you can’t miss so many golden - pun intended - chances and expect to win. Forget the missed calls; missing two wide open nets on the best goalie alive was the real killer. And if Makar doesn’t catch an edge, it’s him & 97 alone for the win
