Calling the cops is basically just calling a badged and licensed secretary at this point. Someone breaks into your house while youre gone? Call the secretary to come take an inventory of stuff you lost. Someone breaks in while youre there? Call the secretary to tell them how cool you are and pick up the body. Id make the argument that calling the cops has not once improved someones situation vs just using a gun and handling it yourself. Yes that includes domestic violence. Youre not calling someone because you want a professional clerk, youre calling them because you want someone with a gun to come and fix situations that require a gun. So its easier to just have the gun already.

I live in the high desert. It's not my favorite environment but it also has MANY advantages over wetter climates. Just now, we moved a large plant in front of the window behind my chair. Nah fam, just buy 2k points worth of whatever looks cool and roll with it. You can always do 500 point games of 40k and those will be way better balanced than combat patrols will be. The upside to kill team is you can use those units in 40k but any tabletop game is a 2 hour commitment minimum until you and the person you play with know the rules like the back of your hand and you both hate bullshitting around the table.

WARHAMMER 40K QUESTION TABLE TOP... Combat Patrol or Kill Team. I'm extremely tempted to actually try and play the table top but I want something that I can easily get into. I've heard these two are small and quick games but unsure which is more for me.

I dont think theyre so much a "progressive" as much as they dont have enough life experience to actually hold any meaningful amount of conviction to any given set or morals and for most its their first time away from the watchful eyes of their parents so they tend to just do whatever feels good. That said though, my original statement is still correct but this was a good talk either way.

@CMPedroKantor Personal accountability definitely plays a huge role. I think many are already progressive before they get there, despite a conservative upbringing. Im a christian, and part of it, too is simply rejecting a biblical worldview bc they themselves aren't Christians.

To some extent id agree, but that doesnt change human nature which is going along to get along. Ive personally seen many people who were raised fairly conservatively go off the deep end because the average college experience is maybe half a step removed communist re-education camps and heavily punishes non-conformity to liberal orthodoxy. Thats not a moral failing on their parent's part, thats the nature of putting someone in an environment where someone else gets to dictate the terms of their success or failure. Couple that with the monetary aspect of being in college and most people will falter and cave to peer pressure.

@CMPedroKantor It's a parent's job to inculcate a set of values, morals, ethics and logical reasoning into their child. When they fail to do it, or do it in a liberal worldview, you get adults who go to college campuses and act and believe exactly as they were raised.

@craftartwarrior Space marines for newbs. Theyre straight forward to paint and play. Maybe avoid guard, tyranids and admech. Horde armies kill motivation to paint unless you already enjoy doing it. Also expense and very layer heavy tabletop play.
