Colorado Builds Better

It's time for a statewide solution to address Colorado's housing shortage and affordability crisis.

People deserve easy access to public transit. The bill being considered by the Colorado Senate doesn’t just incentivize local governments to have housing and workplaces near transit, but keeps people in their communities and improve our air quality. I’m proud to support HB-1313.

Exciting news below👇 Mayor Mike Johnston and Council President Jamie Torres are joined in supporting HB24-1313 by Council President Pro Tem Amanda Sandoval and councilmembers Chris Hinds, Stacie Gilmore, Serena Gonzales-Gutierrez and Sarah Parady 1/4 mailchi.mp/032e78445304/d…

We're back in the Capitol this morning for final votes on the bill to ban the sale/purchase of assault weapons; the bill to allow ADUs in Front Range cities; and the bill that seeks to carrot-and-stick its way to upzoning in Front Range cities' transit areas.

So excited for this new bill to encourage accessory dwelling units in Colorado! As others have said, ADUs aren't a silver bullet, but they now make up a significant share of new, often affordable housing stock in places that really allow them. (1/x) leg.colorado.gov/bills/hb24-1152

The House JUST advanced Reps. @WoodrowForCO & @ImanforColorado's bill to empower and support local governments as they increase affordable, transit-oriented housing options. Learn more about HB24-1313 ⬇️ cohousedems.com/news/saving-co…
