Let’s talk about dual-use items. These are materials that can be used for both civilian and terror purposes, and Hamas has a history of choosing the latter. ​Israel facilitates the entry of a vast range of medical equipment, from incubators to dialysis machines. When a specific item poses a security risk, we don't just say "no", we work with international organizations to find alternative solutions that enable a humanitarian response. However, we will not permit the entry of materials that can be cynically repurposed for terror. We continue to coordinate with the UN and other international partners to identify alternatives that meet Gaza’s medical needs while maintaining security needs and preventing Hamas from using these items for terror.

We had a very productive meeting this week, and look forward to working closely with the new WHO Regional Director to expand medical care in Gaza, including the renewal of medical transfers via Kerem Shalom. The facts on the ground speak for themselves: Over 12,000 tons of medical supplies have entered Gaza since the start of the ceasefire alone. We remain committed to real humanitarian solutions and the health of Gazans.

Today, COGAT joins the rest of the IDF and the entire State of Israel in bowing our heads for the 25,648 heroes who fell in defense of Israel. We carry their courage in our hearts and their mission in our hands.

Please be advised that crossings from Israel into the Gaza Strip will be closed this Tuesday and Wednesday (April 21-22) due to National Memorial Day and Israeli Independence Day. Despite the closure, collection efforts will continue on the Gazan side of the crossings. Humanitarian Aid Flow Beyond the aforementioned days, crossings continue to operate at a stable volume to meet the needs identified by the UN and the international community. Every day, 600 aid trucks enter the Gaza Strip to sustain the humanitarian response, in line with the terms of the agreement. Israel remains committed to coordinating with the UN and international organizations to facilitate the necessary humanitarian response.

The numbers are in, since the start of the ceasefire: 600 trucks per day on average. 1.5M+ tons of food. 650,000+ tents and tarpaulins. 70,000+ tons of hygiene supplies. 12,500+ tons of medical equipment. 6,500+ trucks of essential winter supplies. There is no limit to the amount of aid that can enter Gaza. We remain committed to facilitating these vital goods for the civilian population.

Hamas wants you to see a collapse. The reality on the ground says otherwise. ​Food is filling the markets,enough for sustained ammounts of time, medical centers are active, and aid is consistently exceeding international requirements. ​The only real barrier? Hamas terror They cynically steal vital resources to power terror networks instead of providing for their own people. ​The facts speak for themselves. Don't believe Hamas lies.

Over the last few months, @UNICEF led a vaccination campaign across the Gaza Strip to prevent the outbreak of disease. We want to thank our partners at UNICEF for the success of this mission, which we have been coordinating closely together since planning began. ​Operation Overview: 3 Rounds Completed: Following phases in Nov. '25 and Feb. '26, the third round was successfully concluded this month. Routine Immunizations: Ensuring children under 3 receive essential protection, including BCG, MMR, and Pentavalent vaccinations. Full Coverage: More than 35,000 Gazan children have been vaccinated through these efforts. ​We remain committed to addressing medical needs and facilitating the work of @UN and international organizations in the field.

Claims of a "blanket tightening" on medical aid are false and misleading. ​In coordination with @UN and international partners, Israel continues to facilitate the entry of medicine and medical equipment into Gaza. While we restrict dual-use materials used by Hamas for terrorism, we remain committed to supporting the humanitarian response while maintaining security.
