@chriswithans The Reporter has been in drama with certain local bishops in their diocese (Kansas City). One bishop officially declared them “not Catholic”. They then worked to get him removed as bishop. It’s a paper run by lay people, not Church officials, so not much control over them

@CTPalko Oh I didn’t know that. Why doesn’t the Church use their might to force them to close?

@BudElliott3 Not to mention that almost all of the best G5 programs got “promoted”. TCU, Utah, Louisville, UCF, Cincinnati, SMU, BYU, Houston were G5 teams at some points in BCS/4 team playoff era. Would be quite different if we were advocating for this years BYU to be in

The G5 teams would get destroyed by the G5 teams of a decade ago. The quality is way different. I have a feeling a lot of CFB hipsters stump for the little guy and don’t actually watch the G5 games.
Takeshi Kovacs@BarnabasisaGod

@BudElliott3 I’m bout to play some video games and put this in the background, goodness gracious the physicality and athleticism difference is obscene (but not that shocking considering we already saw this back in September)

Look at the scene in Norman. The first two rounds (at minimum) need to be on campus.

I just can’t get excited about running all over the Raiders. It’s nice to win again, sure. But you’d have to try really hard not to beat them.

@pegobry_en You guys really should have been a natural hegemon in Europe. 15-20 million people pre-Black Death. An upset of history I’m typing this in English instead of your first language.

@Vermeullarmine @BrendanEich Please know I did not mean that as any criticism, Brendan. Just that you were the obvious case here & one in which I wish I had done what little I could to support your brave stand at the time.

Around the time of Obergefell, people feared even to mention Christian arguments for law and public policy, let alone quote the Nicene Creed from an official position. Who knows what the future may hold?
Kingpilled@kingpilled

The Vice President of the United States is reciting from the Nicene Creed in a live broadcast from his desk as he vows with righteous anger to wield the force of USG to destroy the leftist billionaire-funded NGO networks that foment political violence and you’re blackpilling???

@pegobry_en Just like how Dolfuss, who was assassinated by the Austrian branch of the National Socialist movement, is labeled an “Austrofascist”. For stopping the Reds

French Socialist (and Trotskyite-trained) Prime Minister Lionel Jospin called it (after he retired) "the antifascist theater." "Of course it was all theater", he said.

@Vermeullarmine Thank you, this is the correct path. Not violent rage that will accomplish nothing, but legitimate authority breaking up and destroying networks that encourage such violence

Charlie Kirk tried to win hearts and minds through open debate with all comers; his enemies found it intolerable and assassinated him. One reaction, a bad reaction, is private violence, which is unjust except in defined cases, such as immediate self-defense and defense of others. The third way, however, is the unflinching use of public authority to identify and defeat the enemies of public peace and order by all just and lawful means.

Trump losing in 2020 may have changed American politics even more than his winning in 2016 did. All because, well:

@varadmehta The 21-24 period was crucial because 1) it offered a reflection period to focus on what went wrong in 17-20 2) extended the political cycle to prevent any pre-Trump GOP from reasserting itself 3) the Biden admin discredited the idea of a “return to normalcy” from the system
