The dog who was just too nice for the streets... Velvet’s story started with a phone call that changed everything. After being attacked and left vulnerable, she came to us for a second chance. Today, she’s a different dog. Happy, healthy, and ready to be someone’s best friend 😍 She’s available for adoption and she is ready to travel both within Thailand and internationally happydoggo.com/adoptable-dogs

RIP @ChuckNorris! After Bruce Lee died, but before Van Damme, Steven Seagal and the real Jackie Chan arrived, Chuck Norris was simply The Shit. Many a happy, beery night was spent in his ass-kicking company. After 86 years he finally let Death win just to stop Death from whining!

Thinking out loud and deeply embarrassed for us. trump’s life has been so many layers of filth, known to the public. And many said yup, gotta vote for that guy. This is how a nation falls to its knees. The sooner trump is gone, the sooner we can start washing this filth away.

I saw my first ICE bus tonight and it had police escorts in the front and back and all I did was think about how those people haven’t had due process and at least half are probably American Citizens! They’re going to one of the worst Concentration camps in the Country!

Anonymous: I had two tickets to the Super Bowl. My dad was supposed to go with me. He passed away suddenly a week before the game. Everyone told me to sell the ticket. "It's worth $3,000!" I couldn't do it. I went to the stadium. I stood outside with a sign: "Free ticket. Must sit with me and tell me Dad jokes." People thought I was crazy. Then an older guy approached. He looked just like my dad. Flannel shirt. Kindly eyes. "I don't have a ticket," he said. "I just came to listen to the crowd. My son used to love football. He died in a car wreck last year." I handed him the ticket. "You're sitting in seat 101," I said. We sat together. We ate hot dogs. We told bad jokes. We cried a little. For three hours, I had a dad, and he had a son. Best game of my life.

Beautiful story of quiet generosity from Kirk Douglas, shared by Jeffrey Katzenberg. During a lunch break on set, Katzenberg knocked on Kirk’s trailer—and saw a group of contractors and engineers walking out with blueprints. He asked what was going on. Kirk said, “My wife and I rebuild playgrounds at public schools in Los Angeles every year. They never have the budget—it’s always the first thing that gets cut.” Katzenberg replied, “I’ve never heard about that.” Kirk smiled: “We keep it quiet.” For 20 years, they rebuilt 10–20 playgrounds a year. When asked why, Kirk gave an answer Katzenberg never forgot: “You don’t know how to live… until you know how to give.”

From an article in Barrons in 1999 on Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivana: "Not quite a year ago, Barron's exposed the shameless stock promoters and thugs connected to Ivana Trump's latest business venture. Within days of the story's appearance, a micro-cap stock promoter named Maier Lehmann called to tell us that a pair of Russian gangsters named Michael and Boris Vax had been making threatening visits to people they suspected had been sources for the story. Last week, Lehmann and fellow stock promoter Alain Chalem were murdered execution-style in Colts Neck, New Jersey."

Bette Davis with Hattie McDaniel. Davis was the only white member of McDaniel’s troupe of performers to perform for black servicemen during WWII. McDaniel was the Chairman of the Negro Division of the Hollywood Victory Committee. She formed the troupe. At a time when segregation was still deeply entrenched in American society, Hattie McDaniel used her influence to support Black troops serving overseas and at home. As Chairman of the Negro Division of the Hollywood Victory Committee, she organized performances specifically for Black servicemen—who were often excluded from mainstream USO shows. McDaniel formed a troupe of performers dedicated to entertaining Black soldiers, bringing music, comedy, and a sense of home to those serving under difficult conditions. These performances were not just about entertainment—they were about recognition, dignity, and morale for troops who were fighting for a country that still denied them full equality. Among those who joined her was Bette Davis, who stood out as the only white member of McDaniel’s troupe to perform for Black servicemen. At a time when racial divisions were strictly enforced, Davis’s participation in these performances was a notable break from the norm. Hattie McDaniel, best known for becoming the first Black person to win an Academy Award in 1940, was far more than a Hollywood figure. She was an organizer, a leader, and someone who used her platform to create opportunities and visibility for Black communities during a critical moment in history.
